PINE BROOK, NJ--Lindeblad Piano Restoration and School of Music have been located in Building 14 for around 30 years, but their history stretches back over generations. Family patriarch Axel Lindeblad immigrated from Stockholm, Sweden to the United States in 1906 at 25 years old. Passionate about music and an accomplished player on most string instruments, Axel started Lindeblad Piano in 1920 out of his home in Brooklyn, NY and tuned and repaired pianos for over 30 years.

In the 1960s, Axel's son, Ed, built a restoration shop in Randolph, NJ, where he then taught his sons, Paul and Eric, the family business. The legacy of craftsmanship has passed down to Paul and Eric's sons: Todd, Sean, Peter and Jon. Now, Todd acts as CEO of the business working as the company's strategic and customer service lead, and Peter and Jon work closely with their father on restoration work. Sean is the Director of Quality Control and ensures each piano leaves the facility in prime condition. The company has been operating for over 100 years, and looks forward to future generations of craftsmanship.

Lindeblad has adapted to the COVID context through an expansion of online reach. Customers can browse all pianos online, and the showroom is open by appointment only between 9am and 5pm. Virtual appointments are available any place, any time. Lindeblad School of Music offered virtual lessons for a period of time, but as of September 2021, the school reopened for in person learning. Masks are required!

Of note, the company recently launched its MasterCraft Series, prominently featuring our incredibly skilled and talented Lindeblad employees. Enjoy listening to the most recent episode here. Finally, Lindeblad recently gave away a Steinway Grand Piano and $10,000 cash as part of our annual Steinway Sweepstakes! We’re proud to have such an outstanding, multigenerational family business within our community.
