New Jersey Certifies Rensselaer Commercial Properties as a Women Business Enterprise

Rensselaer Commercial Properties Women Business Enterprise

PINE BROOK, NJ–Rensselaer Commercial Properties has been certified a Women Business Enterprise by the State of New Jersey. While the designation is now official, women have played a central role in our growth and history.

Robin PioCosta-Lahue and her husband, Michael Lahue, founded Rensselaer Commercial Properties in 1985. The business grew out of Robin’s lifelong involvement in her family’s real estate business. Robin’s grandmother, Violetta, helped build an apartment building in Caldwell. After her husband passed at a young age, she took over management of the business and building while raising her two daughters in one of the apartments. Violetta used the money from the real estate business to send her daughters to college.

Rosalind, Violetta’s daughter and Robin’s mother, went on to manage the building in Caldwell and later, with Robin’s father Anthony, helped start new real estate ventures. Together, Rosalind and Anthony expanded their business, and after Anthony’s passing in 1974, Rosalind completely took over management of the real estate business.

Today, Robin serves as Managing Partner of Rensselaer Commercial Properties, and now, her daughter, Christina PioCosta-Lahue is CEO. Christina represents the fourth generation of women leaders in the Rensselaer Commercial Properties family.

Our certification as a Women Business Enterprise provides official recognition of a decades-long history of women building, shaping, and managing real estate businesses in Northern New Jersey. More than our history, we are committed to continuing to empower and celebrate women as we continue to write our next chapter.
