MONTVILLE, NJ–Studio J Dance Academy, located at 2 Changebridge Road in Montville, is happy to celebrate their 6th season this year. Studio J Dance Academy provides an atmosphere filled with nurturing fun as well as a professional learning environment for dancers and singers of all ages and abilities. Jessica Mellace, Owner/Director, has teamed up with her staff to offer the best dance family of northern New Jersey.
Studio J is a competitive and recreational triple threat studio, providing lessons in dance, voice, and acting with highly trained, well regarded staff. The Studio J competition team is award winning, including regional and national top overall, choreography, judges choice, entertainment, top scoring, and title awards. Studio J was honored with the "ADCC Studio of Excellence Award" in 2019. Their students were also invited to dance at Citi Field during a New York Mets baseball game.
Vocal students at Studio J also excel with expert guidance from Ms. Diane Fox, a professional opera singer and musical theater performer for over 30 years. She has been guiding young voices in the art of song for 22 years, placing students in some of the best conservatories and universities in the nation for classical voice and musical theater. Her students have consistently won prestigious competitions such as the Rising Stars Competition, Governor’s School, All Shore, All State and All Regional Chorus, Washington National Opera Institute, NJ All State Opera Competition, Monmouth Civic Chorus Vocal Competition, and Basie Awards for Musical Theater. Her graduates have gone on to sing with Lyric Opera of Chicago, Carnegie Hall, and tour the United States and Europe as performers in professional musical theater, opera and new music. She also teaches beginner piano and is a top notch acting coach.
Recently, Studio J welcomed some exciting new guests. Dancing With The Stars contestants Pasha Pashkov and Teresa Giudice used the studio to rehearse their routines. Pasha and Teresa, along with the Dancing With The Stars Crew, were an absolute pleasure to work with; the episode is airing on Disney +. In the past, Studio J Dance Academy was also featured on the Bravo’s hit show The New Jersey Housewives.
Studio J is starting to prepare for their Annual Holiday Show Benefit to help spread holiday cheer and put a smile on children's faces who are battling illnesses. Studio J offers classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical/Contemporary, Acro, Musical Theater, Hip-Hop, Voice, Acting and more! They provide private instruction and accept students from ages 16 months to adults at all skill levels. There is a class for everyone.
